Accession A2009/25, donated by the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB).
“One off-shoot of the ‘leaky building’ syndrome of earlier this decade was the passing of the Registered Architects Act and the establishment of the New Zealand Registered Architects Board.
Twenty-three boxes have arrived at the J C Beaglehole Room from the now defunct Architects Education and Registration Board. What is in them? As a practicum exercise I have been trawling through the boxes, with a view to making a finding aid that will covert the AERB papers into a research resource.”

“What’s it like to have a prowling biographer camping on the doorstep and asking questions about a deceased family member? I don’t really know because it hasn’t happened to me. But I have inflicted the ‘curse of the biographer’ on family members when writing my book (The Ivory Tower and Beyond: participant historians of the Pacific), and in today’s talk I’ll try to see it from their point of view.”
