Library Strategic Overview and Policies
The Library Statute is the official University document governing the Library.
Library Mission and Strategy
Our mission is to enhance learning, teaching and research through the provision of library facilities, collections and services of the highest quality. Our Strategic Plan provides a framework and action plan to enable us to meet this mission and continue to enhance collections and services.
Library Support Strategies for Learning and Teaching and Research
All aspects of the Library’s services and resources are related to supporting learning, teaching and research. In 2012 the Library developed two strategies: the Library Learning and Teaching Support strategy and the Library Research Support strategy. The purpose of these strategies is to articulate how the Library contributes to and supports learning and teaching, and research at Victoria and to communicate this to the wider university community.
The focus of the Library Learning and Teaching Support strategy is on the services and resources the Library offers students and staff in relation to library research skills development. The Library Research Support strategy focuses on addressing the needs of postgraduate students and academic staff in their research activities.
Research, learning and teaching are undoubtedly linked. Each strategy cannot stand alone, and should be considered in conjunction with the other.
