The Language Learning Centre (LLC) is the Library’s hub for language learning. The collection includes a wide range of resources including textbooks and graded readers, DVDs, CDs, and language software.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I copy LLC materials?
You can photocopy or scan pages from books in the LLC’s multimedia zone.
Audio files relating to your course material are available for you to download from the Q drive. You may not copy the LLC’s DVDs.
Can I print at the LLC?
Yes, there is a follow-me in the Multimedia Zone (VZ001). You can top up your printing account at the LLC counter.
Can I reserve LLC materials to use them later?
Yes. Arrange with LLC staff at the Counter, or by phone/email.
Please make reservations at least one day in advance. One booking at a time, per student. Note that bookings are cancelled if you are more than 15 minutes late for your booking time.
Can I search the Library Catalogue for LLC resources?
Yes, LLC resources are recorded on the Library Catalogue.
Can I take a tour of the LLC?
If you are taking a language course at Victoria, you will take a tour of the LLC with your class. These usually take place during the first few weeks of trimester.
If you are not taking a language course, or missed your tour, you can watch a virtual tour of the LLC, or come to the LLC and ask staff to take you on a tour.
Can I take LLC materials home?
For students, most LLC items can be issued for three hours. Fiction novels and graded readers may be borrowed for two weeks (check the book for a yellow label).
Staff may issue items for up to one week.
Can I use LLC classrooms when not reserved for audiovisual classes?
Please check with LLC staff before you use the classroom.
Can members of the public use the LLC?
You can sign up to be a public user of the LLC for a period of three months ($30) or six months ($50). More information about public membership is available on the LLC’s website.
Is it free to use the LLC?
The LLC is free for current Victoria students and staff, and for people studying short courses through Victoria, for the duration of their course e.g. language courses through Victoria Community Continuing Education, and the Confucius Institute.
Is the LLC open at weekends?
The centre is closed on weekends and on public holidays.
