Old Government Buildings, 15 Lambton Quay, Wellington 6012
The Law Library serves Faculty of Law students and staff at the University's Pipitea Campus. The Law Library occupies the south-west wing of the historic Old Government Building.
To accommodate your study needs, the Law Library's study spaces have been divided into two zones. Green Zones are for group work and conversation. Blue Zones are for silent, individual study. Please respect your fellow library users and adhere to the zone rules.
There are Green and Blue zones on Level 1 and 2 of the Law Library. Level 3 is Blue Zone only. Zones are indicated by large signs on each landing, and study rooms are marked with their Zone colours. All zones will be regularly patrolled by Library Staff, and students talking in Blue Zones will be asked to move to a Green Zone.
You may bring covered drinks and cold snacks into the Law Library. Additional bins have been placed in all areas to accommodate the extra rubbish. Hot food is not permitted; please be considerate of your fellow students and restrict hot food to the common room.
Facilities
The Law Library has the following facilities available for your use:
Four bookable group study rooms are available; bookings can be made online, through the Library Website. Additional collaborative spaces are available in the Green Zones on each floor.
Photocopiers are located in the book rooms on levels 1 and 3 and opposite the Law Desk on the ground floor. Use the Docupos machines to recharge your photocopying accounts in the Law Students' common room.
Research assistance can be obtained from the Law Subject Librarians in room GB25, or use email to arrange an appointment (law-reference@vuw.ac.nz). Please ask at the Service Desk for general inquiries and help with using the Library.
Student Computing suites (on each floor).
The University wireless network may be accessed throughout the Library. Due to the architecture of the Old Government Building and its heritage nature some areas of the Library may have limited coverage.
